In order to break the barrier among people with or without disabilities, the 8th Busan WITH BOM Film Festival will be held from OCT. 27(THU) to 30(SAT) at Busan Cinema Center.

The festival selected 10 meaningful films to be screened in a barrier-free version which serves audio descriptions and Korean subtitles so that the visually-impaired and the hearing-impaired also can enjoy films.

☑️What is WITH BOM?

Since 2005, the Korean Film Council(KFC) has been supporting ‘Korean Subtitles – Audio Descriptions Screening Service’ for helping the deaf and the blind to watch films. However, there had been no official name for this service, using several unofficial ones such as ‘Barrier-free Film’. ‘Film Screening for the disabled’. Thus the council launched the brand – WITH BOM(Ga-Chi BOM), meaning watching together is meaningful in Korean, for this service in April 2019.
