In November screening, Green Film Commune will show a documentary film <Things That Do Us Part>(2019) which is about 3 different women’s lifetime followed their own convictions while living cataclysmic times in the modern history of Korea.

JUNG Jung-hwa(1900~1991) - a Korean independence activist, KIM Dong-il(1932~2017) - a survivor of Jeju 4.3 Uprising, and KO Gye-yeon(1932~2018) - a partisan and a witness of 5.18 Gwangju Uprising. The film reconstitutes their stories with letters, voices, testimony of their family and reenactment of actresses, and reveals dark shades of ideological conflict in Korean society.

Their lifetime obliged to sacrifice and struggle against tough circumstances in history throws a question to us and Korean society at this moment. What makes us apart from each other nowadays? Let’s share ideas and opinions on this question after watching the film <Things That Do Us Part>. ◈When? 2020. 11. 27(FRI) 19:30
